In addition to being a stationery designer myself, I interviewed 50 calligraphers, creatives, and stationery enthusiasts before outlining this course.

About your instructor…

Hi! I’m Michelle, owner of Calligraphy by Michelle T, and creator of the course, The Art & Design of Wedding Invitations. 

I studied graphic design at Art Center College of Design and worked professionally as a designer for 10 years before deciding to create this course. During my time in corporate, I had a few wedding invitation requests from friends and family, but kept telling myself that I wasn’t good enough to work with couples who didn’t know me. And why is it that I, a professional graphic designer who worked for many big brands, thought that I was not qualified to work with real wedding couples? It all stemmed from lack of confidence and not having all of the knowledge of what is actually needed in wedding invitations. I had no idea where to source papers or correct wording etiquette. I created this course with you in mind to help you be confident in designing and have all the knowledge needed to design wedding invitations. Let’s start this design journey together.

Who is The Art & Design of Wedding Invitations course for?
This course was designed for those of varying design backgrounds: the calligrapher who wants to expand into wedding invitations, the creative who wants to new learn a new design skill, the crafty person who is looking to get into weddings.
Do I need to know how to design to join this course?
No, this course is intended as an introduction course to designing wedding invitations. It will cover important design lessons such as color theory, compositions, typography, and hierarchy.
How long do students get access to the course?
You will have lifetime access to the lifetime of this course, including any updates.
Do I need to have Adobe Creative Cloud?
You do not. However, I only teach design from Adobe Creative Cloud because it is what I know and use. It is important to note that Adobe CC is industry standard. I know there are other design applications available but I cannot speak on how they compare as I have never tried any.
When will the course open to join?
Enrollment will open on Monday, August 25 and close on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 2pm pst/11am est.
